Our partner Trees for the Future are working on a project located in the Kayes and Koulikoro regions of Mali planting trees with local communities. The planted trees will contribute to the Great Green Wall project which spans larger parts of sub-Saharan Africa.
Because of the proximity to large cities such as Bamako (about 75 km), the pressures on natural resources and land are crucial points to address as they have resulted in the gradual reduction in wood and tree resources to meet energy needs and food needs of the people in the region.
