Plastic Bank , Stopping Plastic Pollution

Plastic Bank helps stop plastic pollution through the collection and recycling of discarded plastic. The collected plastic is processed into Social Plastic® feedstock which is integrated into new products and packaging, reducing the demand for virgin plastic and promoting a circular economy.

Since its inception, Plastic Bank has empowered 545 communities globally, with 49,658 members collecting a staggering 6.2 billion plastic bottles (124,916 tons of plastic waste) – numbers that continue to grow daily.

Developing countries often lack proper waste management and recycling infrastructure. Plastic Bank steps in, providing these communities with access to waste management solutions and education to promote responsible plastic use. Simultaneously, they empower individuals with additional income and social benefits (e.g., grocery vouchers, health insurance) to help break the cycle of poverty.

Plastic Bank's reach extends across the Philippines, Indonesia, Brazil, Egypt, Thailand, and Cameroon. Partnering with local organisations in each region, they offer a variety of programs to improve lives and protect the environment.
