This globally recognised methodology is used by many regulatory standards, including the UK's Streamline Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR), the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and the US Securities and Exchange Commission Climate Reporting Rules.
After completing your initial Scope 1 & 2 calculation, you can choose to seamlessly transition into analysing Scope 3. We offer consulting hour packages in small increments (5 hours), allowing you to break them down into 15-minute consultations. This granular structure empowers you to control the pace of your analysis, delve deeper into specific Scope 3 categories as needed, and manage costs effectively by purchasing only the consulting hours you require. The modular design also allows you to pause and resume analysis as your priorities or resources dictate.
The data used to calculate carbon footprints is commonly referred to as intensity data. This data provides a conversion factor for each type of greenhouse gas emission, allowing us to convert emissions into a standardised unit known as CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent).
Switch2Zero uses the most up-to-date intensity figures available from the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) for calculations within the UK. For calculations in other countries, we utilise equivalent government figures or, if unavailable, rely on DEFRA's data.
